My (Super) Hero

I am now going to admit that I am possibly the biggest fan of "EL mariachi" by Robert Rodriguez out there.

A mexican, gun slinger who gets the hottie and busts up the bad guys with one of the coolest assortments of violent weapons ever assembled in a guitar case.

He's tough, he's not afraid to bleed, he sticks up for the innocent yet comes down on the really bad guys like a steel safe full of bricks.

He encourages women to be self sufficient and strong as well as effeminate. He takes little kids who just need someone to give a darn about them and gives them encouragement and mentoring.

He's not afraid to pistol whip some smart mouth trash talking punk who hits a woman.

I watch the movies and I think that someone has been peeking into my macho fantasies.

The "El Mariachi" movies are a link back to the spaghetti westerns with Clint Eastwood, just with a spanish language script and perhaps a little bit more music.

Have I mentioned the terrific soundtracks to the movies?

You can have your Batman or Captain America.

El Mariachi is my favorite hero anyday.
